Tell us what you want built or fixed, roughly how big the area is, and what is there now: dirt, gravel, old concrete or pavers. If something is wrong with existing concrete, describe it: a crack that keeps widening, a section that has dropped, water that pools after a monsoon storm, or a surface that has faded or flaked. Say whether the work reaches the sidewalk or the curb, since that part needs a city permit. A few phone photos taken from a few steps back help us a lot.
